2012-13 College Football Bowl Games

The NCAAF comes to a close on January 7th with this seasons National Championship game being played between last years winner Alabama and Notre Dame and we’ll be providing a thorough write up of the game and the reasoning behind our predictions as the game gets closer.

Whilst we went 2-0 last year with our betting tips, picking the Crimson tide at the spread and the unders correctly, we’re pretty bullish on Notre Dame covering this year and think that is the best bet on the 2013 National Championship game.

crimson tide 2012 photoThe Crimson Tide at -10.5 ATS are hot favourites this year whereas last years matchup with LSU was pretty close to a coin toss in the betting markets (Alabama started -1 to win last years title when they beat LSU 19-10. The totals line was set at around 40). We’re confident that the game will be a tight affair and Notre Dame will be in it to the wire so are predicting them to beat the spread.

In the lead up to that there’s a host of Bowl games going on around the country from just before Christmas , right up to the grand finale on Jan 7.

We’ve put together a pretty solid betting review of the Bowl game series where we cover the complete schedule and provide game previews, list our Bowl game tips, the odds available and a short reason why we’re picking them.

The Australian Open 2013

australian-open-2013The Australian Open is the first main tournament of the 2013 tennis year. Played in Melbourne, from January 14th to 27th it is also the first leg of the 2013 Grand Slam. At the end of 2012 Novak Djokovic was crowned number 1 with Roger Federer second in the mens rankings and Victoria Azarenka just ahead of a rejuvenated Maria Sharapova on the womens side.

The Australian Open is played smack in the middle of the hottest part of the year in Melbourne, where the temperature can be as high as the mid 40’s Celsius (xxx farenheit) and much hotter on court.

We’ve written an early betting guide to the 2013 Australian Open where we highlight a few things to watch out for, including the weather conditions and tip a few players we think are good value at odds prior to the tournament getting underway, so find out why we think Maria Sharapova and Jo-Wilfred Tsonga are good bets pre-tournament in our initial assessement of this years Aussie Open here.

Football – The World Game

The world Game continues again after a short Christmas Break. All the European leagues are in full flight with Manchester United holding a narrow lead over their city rivals in the EPL going into the new year and Juventus and Barcelona on top with a handy break in Serie A and La Liga divisions. The French Ligue 1 is really tight at the top with nothing separating the top 3 teams.

We’ll be covering the EPL and Spanish Primera leagues as usual each week with our weekly l tips in our Football section and as it gets closer to the deciding matches in both the league championships and the various Cups that are underway we’ll be ramping up our coverage of football overall in the new year.
