RVP loving life at Manchester United

by Thomas

robin-van-persie-manchester-united-2013Robin van Persie has admitted that he is loving life at Manchester United and believes that the first goal he scored against Wigan Athletic on New Years Day was his best for the club so far.

The Dutchman netted a brace in United’s 4-0 drubbing of the Latics, a result which saw them stay seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Van Persie has now scored 10 goals for the Red Devils across all competitions and looks as though he could be as prolific for United this campaign as he was for Arsenal last season.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side do look to be extremely strong this term as well and they sit in a great position in the Premier League, as well as making it through to the Champions League knockout stages.

The striker seems to feel as though switching the red of Arsenal for Manchester United was one of the best moves of his career. He said: “Everybody wants to help each other. Everybody’s keen for everyone to score.
“Defenders are working their socks off for the midfielders, the midfielders are working for the strikers. Everybody wants to run and everybody has one target in their mind. This is a special team.”

There is no doubt that van Persie came to Old Trafford with the pressure on him to score goals and he has certainly done that since joining for £24 million in August.

The 29-year-old’s first goal against Wigan was right out of the top drawer as his touch, movement and finish were all perfect. Make no doubt about it, the Holland international could be the key man in delivering the title for United this campaign.

There is no surprise that he is the big favourite to be the leading scorer for Manchester United in the league this term, he is at 1/12.

Van Persie is then at 5/4 to retain his golden boot award, with Luis Suarez out at 4/1 and Demba Ba a 12/1 shot.

If Robin van Persie continues his good form, he could become a Manchester United legend very quickly.
