2012 Week 15 NFL Odds & Predictions

by Scott

Well, I’ve been getting killed the past few weeks and it’s dropped my record quite a bit. In week 14 I was just 6-10 and my overall record now this season is 104-94-6. With the added games on the schedule with the byes over I’ve been struggling a bit it seems, but this weekend hopefully things will turn around although with the way the past few weeks have gone tread lightly.

2012 NFL Best Bets for Week 15

Cincinnati Bengals -4.5 vs. Philadelphia Eagles +4.5 – Pick: Bengals -4.5

Green-Ellis-Week-15The Eagles had success last week against the Bucs defense, but the Bengals defense is much stronger. Last week the Cowboys managed to steal a win off the Bengals and now this week they need to win. Green-Ellis should have a good game on the ground this week against the Eagles rush defense as well. I don’t expect Foles to have another big game or last second comeback.

Green Bay Packers -3 (-110) vs. Chicago Bears +3 (-110) – Pick: Packers -3

Brian Urlacher being injured hurts the Bears defense, which was evident early last week against the Vikings. Losing to the Vikes was a tough loss and they need to play the Packers now. GB can lock up the NFC North with a win and I expect Rodgers to have a much better game than he did last week. Gould is also out for Chicago and they’re looking for a new kicker to sign this week.

New York Giants +2.5 (-110) vs. Atlanta Falcons -2.5 (-110) – Pick: Falcons -2.5

Atlanta lost 30-20 to the Panthers last week on the road in a game they didn’t even look close the entire time. Atlanta is 4-0 at home though this season and it’s hard to bet against them with a point spread of under a FG. I think the Falcons looked ahead to this match-up and we’ll see a much better performance in front of their home fans this weekend. Take the Falcons at home.

Washington Redskins -1 (-125) vs. Cleveland Browns +1 (+115) – Pick: Redskins -1

Alfred-Morris-Week-15Most books haven’t released a line yet due to RGIII’s status. RGIII could play, but we won’t know until the last minute. Even if he doesn’t play I like Washington to win SU against the Browns. Cleveland has been playing better lately, but the Redskins need to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Alfred Morris will run all over the Browns just like Charles did last week.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3.5 (-110) vs. New Orleans Saints -3.5 (-110) – Pick: Buccaneers +3.5

The Buccaneers gave up a last second TD to lose 25-23 last weekend to the Eagles. The Bucs defense has been a problem for the entire season, but they’re actually not as bad as the Saints defense. Doug Martin has had a ton of rushing yards this season and that should continue against the Saints. With the Saints out of the playoff hunt it’s hard to tell how motivated they’ll be as well.

Minnesota Vikings +2.5 (+100) vs. St. Louis Rams -2.5 (-120) – Pick: Rams -2.5

St. Louis ranks 13th (110.3 RYPG) against the rush and as long as they stop Peterson from getting too many yards they’ll win. The Vikes don’t have a passing threat and they’re 1-5 on the road this year. The Rams are 4-3 at home and they’ve won their last 3 games. They were a bit lucky to win last week against the Bills, but I’m riding the hot team that should win at home this week.

Jacksonville Jaguars +7 (-110) vs. Miami Dolphins -7 (-110) – Pick: Jaguars +7

Cecil-Shorts-Week-15Miami will win this game, but I’m not betting them to win by over a TD this weekend. The Jaguars have been getting better and I’m sure they’ll run the football a lot this week. Cecil Shorts should be back as well and he provides a deep threat. Miami is also playing better mainly due to their defense, but the offense hasn’t been good. Miami wins by 3 in a low scoring game.

Denver Broncos -2.5 (-120) vs. Baltimore Ravens +2.5 (+100) – Pick: Broncos -2.5

This should be one of the best games in week 15. Denver is on an 8-game win streak right now and they’re 5-2 on the road so far this season. Baltimore is a great home team (5-1), but they’ve been in a bit of a rut, which has seen them lose 2 in a row. This BAL defense isn’t the same as in years past (375.9 YPG Allowed – 24th) and I expect Manning to win and keep the momentum going.

Indianapolis Colts +8 (-110) vs. Houston Texans -8 (-110) – Pick: Colts +8

Houston was just exposed by the Patriots and while I don’t expect that to happen in a division game with the Colts I do expect the Colts to keep it close. The Texans secondary has been horrible the past few weeks and Luck has had a great rookie season, which should continue this week. The Colts speed at WR and the sure-hands of Wayne will be enough to keep this game close.

Carolina Panthers +3 (-115) vs. San Diego Chargers -3 (-105) – Pick: Panthers +3

Cam-Newton-Week-15Both teams looked great last week. The Chargers beat the Steelers with Big Ben back in the line-up for Pitts while the Panthers picked up a well deserved win over the Falcons. Newton is beginning to play well again and he needs to play well for Carolina to beat the Chargers. He needs to stay active in the pocket and use his feet when possible. I like Carolina getting +3 here.

Seattle Seahawks -5.5 (-110) vs. Buffalo Bills +5.5 (-110) – Pick: Seahawks -5.5

Seattle is only 2-5 on the road this year, but with this game being in Toronto, Canada I don’t think that’ll matter much. Buffalo had the win in the bag last week, but blew it on a late drive by the Rams. The Bills are 1-3 in Toronto since starting this series and the Seahawks are a way better team who are fresh off a 58-0 blowout win. Lynch should run all over the Bills on Sunday.

Detroit Lions -6 (-110) vs. Arizona Cardinals +6 (-110) – Pick: Cardinals +6

Detroit is having a rough season and I’m on the Cardinals again, which I know is probably crazy. Detroit lost against last week and they have just 4 wins this season. Arizona’s defense has to feel embarrassed from last week and I think they step it up at home this week. I’d try and wait for +7 once the public hits Detroit, but I expect this game to be ugly and the Cardinals win ATS.

Pittsburgh Steelers -2 (-110) vs. Dallas Cowboys +2 (-110) – Pick: Cowboys +2

Dez-Bryant-Week-15Pittsburgh got Big Ben back last week, but he was ineffective most of the game and they lost to SD. Dallas pulled out a late win over the Bengals on the road (20-19). Dallas can stop the pass (217.8 PYPG – 8th) and that isn’t good news for the Steelers who have trouble rushing the football. Dallas will have trouble scoring as well I think, but if Romo gets it going at home I like them SU.

Kansas City Chiefs +3 (-110) vs. Oakland Raiders -3 (-110) – Pick: Raiders -3

It’s hard to bet on the Chiefs right now, as they’ve been horrible. They started last week’s game with an 80-yard TD run, but that was all they scored the entire game and that was against the Browns. The Raiders aren’t much better, but their passing game is pretty good (277.7 PYPG – 7th) and this rivalry always brings the best out of both teams. I like the Raiders at home this week.

San Francisco 49ers +5.5 (-110) vs. New England Patriots -5.5 (-110) – Pick: Patriots -5.5

I’m a bit surprised that NE is such a big favorite, but with the way Brady is playing I have to take them at home. The 49ers will be pumped up to beat the Pats and I’d take SF at home, but on the road in Foxborough is going to be difficult. Ridley and Vereen have also been running the football well. If the Pats mix up the run and pass this week they’ll beat SF by 10+ points.

New York Jets +2 (-110) vs. Tennessee Titans -2 (-110) – Pick: Jets +2

The Jets have turned things around a bit the past couple weeks and they still have an outside chance at the playoffs. Tennessee is on a 3-game losing streak all of which were within the AFC South. The Jets need to keep winning and with a game against an opponent they should beat I’ll be betting them on MNF. Look for Greene and Powell to control the Titans with the run game.
