Dallas Vs Tampa Bay

Dallas is coming off a 37-34 home loss to the NY Giants as -4½ point favorites. Tony Romo completed 21-of-31 passes for 321 yards with four TDs and no picks, but the Cowboys had another late-game collapse. The Cowboys (7-6) lost their second straight game in dramatic fashion that involved missed kicks by rookie Dan Bailey, who has been solid all season. The Cowboys also caught another bad break when running back DeMarco Murray broke his right ankle, ending his record-setting rookie season. Dallas had a 34-22 lead with 5:41 remaining in the game, but the Giants made a furious comeback to take a 37-34 lead. Dallas got into field goal position with six seconds remaining and appeared to tie the game with a 47-yard field goal as time expired, but New York called a timeout. Given another chance to force overtime, Bailey’s kick was blocked. With three weeks left, Dallas and NY are tied atop the NFC East. New York has the inside track and will host Dallas in a season-ending rematch on New Year’s Day.

Tampa Bay is coming off a 41-14 loss at Jacksonville as -3 point road chalks. Josh Freeman returned to action for the Bucs after missing a 38-19 loss to Carolina the previous week. He threw for 181 yards and two interceptions on 16-of-30 passing, while running for 26 yards and a score. LeGarrette Blount ran for 74 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries for the Buccaneers (4-9), who opened a 14-0 lead, but got outscored 41-0 the rest of the way. Tampa Bay was outgained 325-280 and turned the ball over seven times. With the loss, the Bucs suffered their first seven-game losing streak since starting the 2009 season 0-7. The Buccaneers went 3-for-11 on third down and had 12 penalties for 97 yards.

Last meeting was in 2009 as Dallas claimed a 34-21 road win over Tampa Bay as -4½ point chalks. Dallas is 5-11 ATS against losing teams, while Tampa Bay comes in 5-15 ATS at home. The Cowboys are also 7-18-1 ATS as a favorite and the underdog is on a 16-3-1 ATS run in Dallas’ last 20 games overall. Additionally, the ‘Boys are 17-36-2 ATS on the road and 2-12 ATS as a road fav between -3½ and -10 points. However, Tampa Bay is no bargain either, going 6-21 ATS in home games and 2-12 ATS as a home underdog, as well as 4-13 ATS as a December host.
