Miami Vs Buffalo

Miamicomes off a 26-10 home loss to Philadelphia as -3 point favorites. Miami (4-9) more resembled the team that started with seven consecutive losses and not the one that had won four of its last five. The Dolphins had turned it around with strong defense and a solid rushing attack, but they only generated 82 yards of offense in the first half while giving it away three times – twice deep in their own territory. Miami, ahead 7-0, lost offensive tackle Jake Long to a back injury in the first quarter and quarterback Matt Moore was under constant pressure for the remainder of the game. He was sacked four times, fumbled once and eventually left late in the third quarter with an apparent head injury.Moore completed just 11-of-19 throws for 95 yards with a touchdown and an interception. J.P. Losman threw for 60 yards while being sacked five times. Reggie Bush provided most of Miami’s inept offense, rushing for 103 yards on 14 carries while catching five passes for 27 yards.

The Dolphins ended with 204 total yards and turned the ball over three times. Miami hadn’t allowed a rushing touchdown in its previous seven games, but they gave up two to the Eagles’ LeSean McCoy.

Buffalo’s struggles continued last week in a 37-10 loss at San Diego as +7 point underdogs. Ryan Fitzpatrick connected on 13-of-34 passes for 176 yards and two interceptions for the Bills (5-8), who have lost six straight and have been eliminated from playoff contention. Steve Johnson caught four passes for 116 yards in the loss.

The Bills finally got on the board early in the second half. Johnson caught a 53-yard pass to put the ball at the 21. Faced with a 3rd-and-goal from the nine, Fitzpatrick was sacked for a loss of 10 yards. Buffalo made a 37-yard field goal to make it 16-3. They cut it to 23-10 shortly thereafter, but didn’t score again. The Bills, like the Chargers, started the season 4-1. They were 5-2 after a 23-0 victory against Washington on Oct. 30th, but they haven’t won a game since.

The Bills were outgained 366-281 and turned the ball over three times. On a positive note, Fitzpatrick set a career high with 3,013 yards passing, making him the second Bills QB with consecutive 3,000-yard seasons (Jim Kelly 1988-89, 1991-95).

The Dolphins and Bills met a few weeks ago as Miami took a 35-8 home decision as -3 point favorites. The Bills coughed it up twice and didn’t convert a third down in the loss (0-for-12). The Dolphins are 20-8-1 ATS on the road, but only 16-34-1 ATS against losing teams and 5-10 ATS as a road favorite in December. Meanwhile, Buffalo is 7-14 ATS as a division host, however, the Bills are 31-15-1 ATS against losing teams, 5-2 ATS when hosting Miami; and they are playing with same-season revenge.
